Featured Client: Ashley & Arian Lalezari – Maroon Bells Wedding in Aspen
Arian and Ashley Lalezari were one of our most memorable couples this past summer season at Wedding Dance Coach! Their song choice was excellent – “All the Time in the World” by The Heyday. We had a great time putting together a routine of basic dance steps, patterns and a few moves that fit both the song and their fun personalities! It’s always wonderful to see the confidence build as couples learn something new together. They were married August 3, 2013 at Maroon Bells Amphitheater. We are so proud to have been a part of such a beautiful day in their lives! Great job both of you! – Dennis Severson
Arian, How did you meet the love of your life (in 5 sentences or less)?
Ashley’s sorority and my college roommate’s fraternity planned a big trip to watch the CU-UT football game in Austin. We ended up driving down separately, but we met the first day we got there on my roommate’s boat on Lake Travis. Although I was struck by her beauty, my first objective was to recruit Ashley for my Ultimate Frisbee team, since she was tall and had played soccer. Soon thereafter, we started spending more and more time together, and the rest – as they say – is history!
What was your first dance song and why did you pick it?
We wound up picking a song called All the Time in the World from a little-known band called the Heyday. We wanted a song that was a little off the beaten path, but we ended up finding this one unexpectedly as Ashley was commuting one day. The feel and lyrics of the song seemed to fit perfectly, and we knew we had to pick it.
Why did you choose to take wedding dance lessons?
I am not a dancer and never have been, but we were having a pretty big party and wanted the dance to be special for us and for our guests.
Would you recommend wedding dance lessons?
Absolutely. I don’t think either of us expected how nice the lessons and at-home practice would be as a release from the chaos of wedding planning. It brought us a lot closer, and was something that reminded us to stay conscious of what mattered as we worked up to the big day.
What was your favorite moment at your wedding?
Of course, the dance was one of the highlights of the event, but the thing that stands out for me most is probably our picture-taking excursion. After the ceremony, the bridal party took the short hike around Maroon Lake for pictures. The weather was perfect and we (okay, Ashley) got so many compliments from strangers and well-wishers and looks of complete awe and excitement from little kids (especially the little girls). It was a perfect way to spend our first hour of marriage!
