Featured Client: Talia & Daniel Haykin – Vintage Inspired Wedding
Meet Talia and Daniel Haykin! This energetic couple stole our hearts the moment they walked in the studio doors. They had that special sparkle and connection and it was our honor to showcase their magic on the dance floor. The Haykin’s were married at the McNichols Building in Civic Center Park on March 10th, 2013. Check out their awesome wedding trailer done by Flat Face Films and be inspired!

How did you meet the love of your life (in 5 sentences or less)?
We were set up on a blind date by friends.
What was your first dance song and why did you pick it?
We chose Heaven with Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. We danced to it the night we got engaged (in our living room) and both love Louis & Ella. Additionally, we are very ‘vintage’ people.
Why did you choose to take wedding dance lessons?
We didn’t want to fall all over each other during our first dance and Talia’s uncle, who is a semi-professional dancer (salsa, tango), told us we MUST take lessons.
Would you recommend wedding dance lessons?
Yes! Even if you don’t want any choreography, Elizabeth helped us feel confident with the music and ourselves. We knew we could just ‘rock step’ if we wanted to. And she gave us great tricks for timing, etc. We didn’t want to just stand in the middle of the dance floor for 4 minutes and rock back and forth.
What was your favorite moment at your wedding?
Wow. That’s hard. The first time we saw each other? Saying our vows to each other? The private time, yichud, we spent together in our first moments as husband and wife? The dip and kiss at the end of the dance when we knew we had killed it? They were all awesome moments.
