Featured Client: Father of the Bride – John Petrey
Meet this fun father/daughter duo John Petrey and Jessica Petrey McGee. They wanted to do a unique and energetic father/daughter dance and that’s just what we did. It was a great way to showcase their special relationship. The gorgeous wedding took place on June 30th, 2012 at Point Park in Grand Lake, Colorado.
Here’s my interview with the proud father of the bride:
What was your father/daughter dance song and why did you pick it? It was a mash-up starting with the beginning of Tim McGraw’s “My Little Girl” followed by select, short clips of Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, Stevie Ray Vaughn ”Pipleline” and The Rolling Stones “Jumpin Jack Flash” and finishing with the end of Tim McGraw’s “My Little Girl.” I picked those songs because I wanted a dance that would be fun, represented my love for my daughter and the many great times we have spent together and where the lyrics reflected all of that.
Why did you choose to take wedding dance lessons? I’m not much of a dancer and when Jess told me I needed to pick out music for a Father/Daughter dance I realized … OMG that means we are going to actually dance in front of people! I wanted the dance to be something she and I would be proud of and not being a dancer, I needed help … lots of help! Fortunately, Elizabeth was exactly what we needed.
Would you recommend wedding dance lessons? Absolutely! The dance lessons experience was terrific. Jess and I had a great time working with Elizabeth and the end result speaks for itself. The dance at the wedding was a big hit with the guests.
What was your favorite moment at your daughter’s wedding? The Father/Daughter dance of course!
